Your place in the puzzle

In any big picture, there are lots of small pieces.

What is the big picture in the situation you have before you?  Can you see it in your mind?  Somewhere in that box of possibilities is the answer to the need that your customer has.

If you fit the situation, and supply the knowledge, experience and abilities to answer the need, you get the opportunity.

When you are presenting your abilities, what is your place in the puzzle?  What makes YOU the only choice?

We all know that the customer wants to know,"what's in it for me?"

WHAT RESULTS DO YOU DELIVER?

This is

Golden Apple #3:

Focus on Outcomes.

In creating business communication, you need to keep it short and to the point.  Show that you value the time of the person you want to reach by being focused in your language.

Speaking to your prospect in the right way shows that you are able to do what needs to be done.  Think of the questions in that person's mind, the missing piece in the puzzle for THEIR needs, and speak in the language they are used to using.  Listen to the clues that you get about what the customer needs by studying the situation and finding out what they need.

Your first task is to understand, not to be understood.  Let your experience and credentials speak for themselves.  Use the type of language that is suited to the business environment that is the setting for the conversation.

This creates a rapport that can go a long way toward building a long term business relationship.  It starts with the first time you reach out.

Having a system to create good messages and clear communication will drive your business faster and with less effort than reinventing the wheel.  I have a system to make effective business writing simple.  Three parts, Three Golden Apples.
