How You Define Your Expertise

You are positioned for opportunity.  After connecting with someone you want to have a conversation with about your business, it's time to get prepared for that conversation.  You need to do some research, and decide how you want to portray your skills and abilities.

The opening is there and now it's time to make a statement about who you are and what you have to offer to your market.

Look carefully at what the prospect needs.  Are you offering a product, or a service, or some combination of both?

Now look at your own experience.  Think about ways you have created success in the past.  How do the qualities you have used when doing that apply to the current situation?  What specific stories do you have about what you have done that can add to your presentation?

Make a list of every skill that you have in the current market that you serve.  Make another list of ways you can see that you can add value to the person you want to reach by presenting solutions-oriented thinking.

Now, pick the one skill that you have that is strongest and that is most aligned to the matter at hand.  Pick the one solution you have created that is most like the one you are offering.  As you are crafting your message or conversation, focus on these.  Let the prospect know that there is more to you, that you are ready to learn more about them too.  Let them know that you continue to learn more to keep current in the market.

This is Golden Apple #2:

Position yourself as the right choice by highlighting your expertise.

I use the system I created every time I am writing copy or presentation materials for a business.

It's based on the classic methods for crafting messages that create trust and value for the reader, that I learned early in life, and that I continue to practice in my business.

The Three Golden Apples system is the result of taking the art and science of persuasion to the world in a new way, using language that is simple and easy to grasp.

When you know exactly who your customers are, are able to present your skills effectively, and can present outcomes to the customer that are aligned with their needs, you have put together the three elements of effective communication and are positioned to make the sale.

I can show you exactly how to do it.

Or, you can work with me to do it for you, using templates and questionnaires I have put together to make it simple for us to work together.  I'll create copy and materials that can be repurposed for emails, blogs, web site, press releases, social media, PowerPoints; whatever vehicles you use to drive your marketing.

Then you can move on to doing what you do best...making your business all that you envision it to become.  I'm here to support you.

All my best,

Always,
